BERT FELT – SENIOR CONSULTANT AND PROJECT DIRECTOR

Bert is born and educated to senior tertiary level in Sweden, and after some eight years of academic training and completing his thesis (future global IT&T systems) and some lecturing at his university, he embarked on an international career and has been a permanent resident and worked in countries and areas as USA, Sweden, Japan (six years), China, New Zealand Switzerland, and the Pacific Islands before moving permanently to China several years ago.

Bert has a strong track record of successfully starting up and establishing new operations and projects, corporate restructuring, and rehabilitation, and in senior level consultancy and project management. He has been a personal and accredited member of IEEE for 30 years. He has a unique mix of business development, managerial, change management, technical, business, financial, trouble shooting, problem solving, negotiation and legal, international experience and training.

He understands how to bridge the cultural gaps and how to operate in an international very well. He is used to the respect, teamwork and understanding it takes to create results.

He has held formal positions as Executive Director, Managing Director, CEO, CTO, Project Manager, Project Director and Senior Consultant in countries as Sweden, Japan, USA, China, Switzerland, and New Zealand, and he is multilingual. He has worked for major international corporations, as well as startup ventures. He has extensive experience in business development, start up, project management, change management, business re-engineering and strategic business development.

He has worked as Director of Technology in a major Asia corporation in the Dairy industry and knows the food an dairy industry well.

From 1989 to 1998 he worked for New Zealand Telecom Corporation as a Telecom employed senior consultant and project manager, advising many of the top 400 New Zealand companies on matters of strategy and development, IT&T, best practice application of technology and adaptation of technology to business strategy and procedures to achieve superior business performance. He performed extensive analyses and modeling of the telecommunications systems and associated administrative routines for improvement of performance and profit generation. He also performed risk analyses and went through Telecom NZ special training in these methologies. (Vose)

He has project managed countless projects, including the IT&T for the Japan Prime Ministers visit to Auckland, New Zealand, some years ago and as Project Director planning the IT&T for APEC 1999. Among other past project involvements has been the Britomart Technology, part of the $1.5 billion Auckland Britomart project. Bert brings with him senior business, strategic, marketing, technical and project management skills. His highly international career has also resulted in an extensive network of contacts around the world, especially in Asia. .

Bert is a highly experienced, hands-on, interactive, often hard nosed but participating team player with very well developed people and communications skills, and he is very experienced in operating in an environment involving people from different cultures, languages, backgrounds, personalities and professional disciplines. He functions best as the person successfully leading and facilitating and enabling the mixture of finance, operational, tactical, strategic, technology, and legal aspects to work together towards a common goal. He is a playing coach participating in the game, not just the man providing the ball or the playing field or give advice from the sideline. Bert has highly developed people skills and is a professional, experienced and trained negotiator.

Bert is the managing and founding partner in the company Merkina Ltd, a network of many senior professionals with extensive expertise in international matters, as trade, business and investments, especially concerning Asia.

Bert is presently working primarily with investors and companies on the Western Pacific Rim with establishing and developing new projects. He is a resident of China and living in Chongqing.
